Life is busy with two little ones now. Nate has been pretty busy working on the house. We knocked down the wall in between the kitchen and Alexis's old room before Jonathan arrived. After he was born we were pretty wrapped up in taking care of him and learning how to juggle things with two kids so that got put on hold for a while. There's not a whole lot of time to work on stuff like that but slowly it is getting done.
He had to do some work with the electrical first which took a while but that's all done now. Now the wall has to be repaired. He's sheetrocked and started mudding it. Now it's just going to take multiple coats of mud and sanding to get it looking normal again. Hoping to be ready to paint the kitchen/diningroom by this weekend maybe. *fingers crossed*
Jonathan just turned 4 months last Friday. Yay, Happy 4 month Bday Jonathan! He had his 4 month check-up last Friday. He now weighs 14 lbs. 10 oz. and is 24 inches long. He's more than doubled his weight since he was born.
He's really getting to be fun lately. Definitely not a newborn anymore. He's been smiling for a while and just started laughing out loud the other day. Of course it's only been for Alexis and at the dinner table when she was pretending to burp. Not the best table manners but if it gets him laughing I'm all for it! Nate, Nate's father and I have been able to get him going a little bit but not the way Alexis did.
He's been sitting up really good, I think he'll definitely hit that milestone at the normal time, if not a little earlier. He hates lying down now and loves to be in his Bumbo. He's been pushing up when he's laying on his tummy but still hates tummy time so we don't force it on him too often. He'll do what he wants when he's ready. He's also started reaching out for toys and grabs anything he can get his hands on.
Alexis is also doing well. It has definitely become obvious that she merging out of the toddler stage and into the child stage lately. She talks a lot now and always has a good story to tell. She has been making things up lately and really exercising her imagination. She enjoys dressing up, building houses, coloring, painting and playing outside, though she has been telling me she wants the snow to go away so it will be summer. We just bought a bike trailer so Nate's been taking her out for bike rides every chance they get since we've gotten it. Shhh, don't tell Alexis but she's getting her own big girl bike for Easter. Then the 3 of us can go for bike rides when it gets nicer and we can bundle Jonathan up in the bike trailer. Fun times. :)
And I, have been busy taking care of the kids and the house. I enjoy being a stay-at-home mom/wife and am very happy with our little family right now. Though I also am anxiously waiting for summer too. I definitely am looking forward to Alexis being able to get outside and get fresh air and exercise more and being able to get Jonathan out and introduce him to the world around him.
So that's what's going on in our neck of the woods.

what a fantastic post. I love to hear about all the everyday things that people are doing. I don't envy you for remodeling. I hate painting.
